    i dont think the engine will fit withought the remote oil filter kit and a fan is the only one for the cooling.

      I honestly cant imagine why anyone would bother replacing a head if they can get that lot for two grand, AND sell their old engine / box on afterwards.

      I'm sorely tempted! AND I have a good 3.0TD and 340F box to go!

      Just thinking, the 3.0TD owner could probably claw back a grand if he was careful and patient. Engine, box, ECU and handful of Lex bits gotta be worth a grand on eBlag.

          I've done the research, and Lexus engine parts are no more expensive than Surf parts, providing you don't add the name LEXUS to your order.
          They share a lot of electrical parts with Supras, Celicas, MR2s...etc.

            Did you figure whether the seats will fit?

            What about the dash? Did the cluster fit ok or was it a faff?

              The seats could fit, but they would be touching each other!

              The Surf's dash needs chopping about to fit the housing that the Lexus clocks screw into, because most of the warning lights are in the housing.
              So yes, it's a faff!
              Eventually, I'll make a complete new dash for mine then take molds from it.

                  Uhmmm.... Because if your head goes and you don't get it repaired... How much are you likely to get selling your engine... Not much.

                          tis a good point for,if mine had done more miles i'd of had at vinces by now,but mine is low mileage,plus time was a factor,mine comes off the road end of the week for body shop

                            if it was my old 2.4 and I had the financials it would gave gone to vince. But this one... It's to nice to raise,or otherwise interfere with. So when I have the shekels( hopefully within a few months) and a decent donor ( some old blown up 2.4) off she will go to Wales
