How will that work with regards the 4 wheel drive? Could a manual box from the Toyota still be used, or would you have to try to find a donar car with manual box?

    Cheers.

You can adapt your manual 'box to the V8 , but the bellhousing will cost as much as another Lexus.

4X4 will stay the same as the Surf's transfer box bolts onto the back of the Lexus auto 'box.

It's documented in the modifications section by Dannyboy77.

            Ross - you mentalist!

I cannot believe you are tearing that beauty apart lol

You should have spent a few weeks getting some use out of her before taking it apart.

Maybe see you on Sunday - I got a couple of Clio seats in The Gin Palace that should be in Growlers hands!

Hey Ross - forgot to say - had a petrol blast in the face when filling up just now - ahhhh what a glorious aroma - so much nicer than that smelly oily stuff other people use to power their junk.................

Would it be much hassle fitting the front seats into a 3rd Gen ?

Life is too important to take seriously !

I have seen many threads of Toy seats going into other Toys - they seem to have very similar mounting (mountain?) points.

If the width is OK then I would think they will - Vince - get the measuring tape out!

i did think when i went to collect the car it was a shame to destroy it, and it is very nice car to drive for its age.

However everytime i think that it just takes one look on you tube at vids like this
                  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s02-ISXvCto
                  or

                  to change my mind!!

to be honest i would be supprised if the seats would fit in a surf they are huge arm chairs!!

                                Tut, tut

The LS400 is a GREAT car, one that re-wrote the book of luxury, affordable luxury. And slammed Mercedes in the USA in the process.
