      • will do tomorrow think going to need another set of silencers on the exhaust. only have one problem which is the speedo. it works but doesnt it registers something but not the true speed say 5mph for 30 and 15 for 50 mph

Vince any ideas on above or below?

apart from that is OK i think the ECU was learning kick down as i was going along then when i reved it about 3000 it kicked down from 3 to 2 then 1 and stayed there?? i thought it might be loss of fluid and was slipping gears but when you put it from P to D it kicks you forward so i think its not loss of fluid??? it seems OK now though had a good drive around but didnt really boot it and was fine? so maybe the ECU was teaching its self??

        • When you go from n to p it does seen to jump quite allot I think they all do it as both the ls 400 seem to be the same!!

Have you got the earth and signal wires mixed up?
It'll take several drives/starts for the ECU to sort it'self out. Don't disconnect the battery during this time as it'll never learn anything.

The LS400s and Soarers have rubber couplings on the propshaft flange to eliminate driveline shock, the Surf's is solid.

              • i will have a look at the wiring when i go out and play on it! it was green/red=signal blue=earth & black orange=12v should be OK. it is a different TC as the one was originally on as that broke just before the swap so i dont know if the new TC speedo works i can put the the one form teh broken on in as i know that works but will get to the bottom of it somehow

another little problem im trying to solve is the solinoid to release the lever rather than using the red button as the brake switch goes into the ECU so got to find the wire that comes out the ECU that gives the signal / power to release it? or is it red button from now on?

cant find it on the FSM wiring diagrams of either the surf or the lexus

Tee off that brake switch wire and connect to the shift lock wiring at the base of the shift lever.

Can't remember which wire at the moment, I'll have to go and look at mine.
I'm using the Lexus shift lever and centre consol now, but the wiring is the same as the Surf's.
