well its oging OK but the truck is on the path so i am having to work in the day light when its not freezing and raining! which doesnt leave a lot of time! i am doing OK just got to finish the fuel pump wiring and then should be able to fire up! had a bit of a mere getting a generic fuel pump relay but got a cross over relay (85-86 & 30-87-87a) 5 pin and its going in the EFI socket in the fuse box which is unused in the diesel surf! i have also used the glow plug fuse socket(well a 30A fuse from the lexus) to feed the EFI, starter & opening circuit if i remember correctly i will put pics up of the wiring. all in all OK just slow! but we cant all be as quick as bushy!

hi all just to let you know i havent abandonded the conversion just its been damn cold wet and unfit to work out side so with the recent weather getting better i have managed to get out and carry on just a few pics to update
fuel pump in
fuel pump in tank. silconed in well the holes through the flange
finally got the all the wiring all the ancillary bits done. had to get a hydrolics guy to fit the power steering pipe as it runs to 1000psi 60bar so jubilee clips aint going to hold that! finally just turned the key to see if electrics worked so at least the dash lights up!
big switch on is saturday as need daylight to give it the once over and time to get it running so hopefully have a vid with sound of it running on monday!Last edited by dannyboy77; 26 February 2010, 09:30.http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/showthread.php?t=55797

so Alan you doing the conversion yourself? if need and referance material i have it coming out of my ears!
Fantastic mate I'll take all the advice and help I can get, hopefully starting soon, funds and garage space dictate when it gets done.
I got my fuel pump and 16" fan, need to order my oil relocation kit and a few other bits and bobs.
I intend getting the Surf stripped and doing a good prep job on engine bay and getting the Lex lump serviced and looking decent before I install it.
send your stuff to alanmckirdy@blueyonder dot co dot uk
( I put dot intead of . to stop the forum spybots grabbing my email and sending even more emails about ###### viagara!)Alan

hopefully you should have a few wiring diagrams and other stuff i sent though if not tell me and i will send it again! yeah i think the most important thing you need is space and a nice dry light place to do the conversion most of mine was on the drive i got lucky and did the swap in a lock up. got my pipe for the exhaust going to bend it myself
