    Neil,
I will put up some mpg figures once I have got my head around how to accurately measure out the biodiesel from the drums to the tank - dunno where to stop pouring the juice in. Much easier with the petrol station thingy as it automatically stops when it senses the diesel level reaching its nozzle. And thanx for piddling on my plans of using LN130s as viable sources of gears should something bad happens! - back to 4Runners then.

Rix- makes sense. Its good to see that 29-33 is acheivable - that is as much as my old Del Sol - which is a 2 seater!!

Leo - that is horrendous fuel consumption...unless you have trying to race motorbikes M8. Do you think a good engine service and drivetrain check from a GOOD diesel specialist might help?

Warmest Regards guys, and thanx for all the knowledge given without reservation.

    Udhi

mine always stays somewhere between 700 and 4000 rpm and uses £20 of fuel a week just going to work or a full tank if i do a lot of driving...

my truck goes from 600- 2000rpm and does 8mpg and uses about 4 surf tank fulls a day.... and incidentally the green band goes from 1500-1800 rpm but has a lighter green bit down to 1000rpm.... never use that bit cos a block change to do it would mean you lose too much speed waiting for the revs to drop and the gear to select.
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

        fuel consump.........

well, there seems to be a wide variety of figures given - perhaps we should all consider USEAGE, Heavy foot, Light foot etc.... I believe its fairly simple - make sure the vehicle is serviced properly and regularly to optimise its performce and economy....! those that feel its LOW a check of filters should be one of the things you do- and yes can make a big difference. From what you all say - it could look quite scary. from the research iv been doign prior to purchase -i'd say between 25 to 32. THOUGH IV had stories from a supplier the he runs one and feels he is returning £20 for 160miles. = 36mpg ish. but thats with NO offroading and a light foot and a bit of motorway (from docks to base).
