When I ran the VIN details past Toyota they said, and I quote " it thinks it's a Feb 94 Hilux Surf". The badge on the back seems to confirm this.

The log book doesn't show a model only that it's a Toyota which was imported then registered in Dec 98. Maybe I'm not the first to be confused.

I must be working for the wrong firm (Focus), if B&Q are selling these!

If cut and shut means what I think it does it's a darn fine job as I can't see any welds.

To be honest, a week into owning it, it doesn't seem to matter quite so much what it is, it's what it does and feels like that's more important.

If Toyota are into the "I think" mode, then it's a Surf. The Surf and UK 4Runners will have different format VIN numbers. Japanese ones have KZN130 and 7 numbers, UK ones are different to this but not quite sure how.

I'm thinking if the front wing doesn't have the lil mirror then maybe it's had an accident at some stage and has been replaced with a 4Runner wing.... as long as it drives good and looks sweet (which from the size of the pics it does) then that's all that matters imho.
