  • Electrical diagnostic help required

Hi, we've got a 3.0L kZN 130 '94. Been absolutley perfect since we bought it. However it cut out with no warning and wouldn't restart. We sent it to a toyota dealer outside London and was messed around with for a month with a different story each time we called. The main excuse was that they couldn't find anything wrong when they did a diagnostic. Eventually we gave up and went to collect the car and was informed that they didn't have the neccesary ECU leads and so nothing had been done!! Nice.On advise from a mech. friend he reckoned that there was no fuel getting to the injectors. We swopped out the injector pump with no joy. We then had the ECU checked-still no fuel to the injectors Before we do anymore-can anyone recommend a garage that has the facilities to complete a proper diagnostic around the london area-or has anyone got any advise as to what to try next!

Have you got an immobiliser fitted?

Maybe disconnect both batteries for 15 mins to reset the ECU. Then reconnect and leave for a few minutes before trying to start?

Worked on another motor for me.

(Is fuel reaching the pump? Have you changed the fuel filter?)

Sounds like the Toyota dealer feeding you b0llocks. I don't know about fancy diagnostic equipment (I think it extends about as far as a paperclip with a Surf anyway) but take it down to TonyN in Basingstoke (www.4x4toys.co.uk) and he can sort it for you.

            electrical diagnostic help needed

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I'll try to reset the ECU this week and yes, it has an immobiliser fitted. I'll give Tony a ring aswell and get it down to him if I can't sort it. Make you all right about the dealer, Jemca at Sidcup were $$$$$$ useless and I would never go back to them again. Thanks again and i'll post an update when i get it resolved
