Just bought 96N SSR-X Manual from Autoserv at Selby I used to have a bog-standard Brit Forerunner with no frills,my new machine has all the trimmings including those side window thingys 1.How do you stick them back on ?and wot with? 2. my electric aerial has the sound of a manic coffee grinder andhas given up the will to live ,are they expensive and are they easy to fit ?On the whole the truck is a sound unit in a sort of pastel blue with silver grey panels on the doors etc. Does anybody have any tips on underbody treatment ? when I inspected it it was clean as a whistle but the roads of south yorkshire are now 2inches deep in salt n grit. Excellent site by the way !

welcome to the madhouse - nice to have another Doncaster surfer.
I bought my surf in Thorne (the good garage not the cowboy) and they undersealed (waxoiled) it for me for £85. Apparently it's a bugger of a job in the cold as the wax isn't very runny & it's well messy as well.
Looks just the job and told it should last a couple of years

no, i didn't get three years out of my waxoyl...cause i never got it done no, its been running on an untreated chassis, and its beginning to show the ravishes of a uk winter or two...actually, three.
waxoyl is the treatment of choice for most of the pro outfits...you need to have a clean chassis, and mask up the exhaust pipe..keep it away from the brakes too..to have the job done really well, with guarantee will set you back a few hundred quid...but it is thorough..they use a special moisture dispersing spray used in the military for getting the underside of sea harriers clean, and bone dry...then they put black waxoyl on the chassis, and clear in the engine department and behind the doors etc..but it should be good for 5 years..
the waxoyl, and pump spray is available at halfords, you can get some various attatchments for getting it into the box section..personally, i'll be waiting for a warm, and dry day..then tackling it myself..might touch up the tarnish with hammerite first, but it probably won't be neccessary..warm the tin up first, and it should flow just fine..some of the guys on the forum have diluted it with thinners, but i can't recal wether it was considered to be a wise option or not.probably a messy job, but hey..it'll be covered well when i'm done..probably i'll be too..
