hi thanks for response the above link in the top left what are these?? i bought a kit from roughtrax that has a countersunk rubber insulator and another rubber washer but are these[top left] also rubber washers? my glow plugs have ordinary washers on them i am guessing this is wrong? if so where can i get a complete set for all 4 plugs that are correct ones and do they go on before the buss bar or after it?? thanks for assistance

Forget about what washers are on the glowplugs, they're not important.
What IS important is that you isolate the power wire (the wire with the ring terminal on the end) from the threaded post it attaches to. This is what the plastic 'top hat' insulator from Roughtrax is for.
You want voltage going to the glowplugs when you switch on the ignition and not directly to earth.

i have followed instructions from another post regarding correct sequence to install the top hat insulator ect and did follow that to the letter but fuse has still blown? there is definitely no contact between buss bar and power bit and the post it screws down onto, is there anywhere else i need to check??

Hold on, I have an engine sitting on the floor in the garage. I'll take a photo of the busbar assembly so you can check it against yours..............

Well thats no help as the 3.0 is a different set-up.

So you have connected and isolated the power wire correctly, but is the busbar connected to the threaded part of the glowplugs only and not to the glowplug body? i.e. you need to isolate the busbar from the glowplug bodies using the washers.

Before to switch on the ignition again, check that you don't have continuity between the busbar and earth (engine block/cylinderhead etc)

here is where i was struggling, i have done as you have mentioned above but with the glow plugs i am not 100 percent i have the right washers for the job on the above link they show the washers as raised middle "top hat" type washers on mine there are two per plug and they are both metal washers and very thin, so i am guessing i need to sort the glow plug end [washers] are these special type washers rubber metal ect, thanks for replying to me really needed your response

Hope this works, the black and yellow terminals represent the
bus bar and the power cable. It's ###### cold out there!!!

thank you very much for taking the time to actually go out and snap pics in this weather really good images too, now i can confirm i have defo wired up the buss bar in the correct way, however i do not have and have never seen them little black things in top of the glow plug screw am i right in believing that they are important?? underneath the screw and that blk cap and the buss bar is there anyother spacer's or rubber mounts or is there just a washer?? [ i have two metal washers] no more photos needed buddy just need to no if there are any other parts i am missing, i now think this is how my 80 amp fuse is blowing. correct sequence for actual glow plug then is glow plug, then [spacer/washer]then buss bar, then nut with top hat thingy on is that right, thank you so so much for all help answers and images.

2 more, of the glow plug terminal, the black pieces are the original bus bar fittings, they do fall to bits some of the time, so maybe someone has
just used new nuts instead of replacing them.
