Is that the insulator that looks like a top hat? Mine is blue, if it is, it's there but further down. I was thinking that maybe the cable terminal should be further down the stud, possibly over the top hat style insulator. Would this be correct?
If so, the cable terminal would then sit on top of the buzz bar to create the connection but would be isolated from everything else?
Well, wired the glow plug insulator / power supply the right way, replaced the fuse and connected the batteries, put the key in, turned it, and........................... ..... it started!

ran rough for a couple of minutes then levelled out, stopped it and replaced the covers on the fusebox, bolted it back in, tried it again and it fired right up again.
So, now that I've made it go, I can concentrate on making it stop and start replacing brake pipes.
