Well, I tried the relays but it did not change.
Meanwhile my box of service bits arrived from Rough Trax.
I gave it a full service which included the fuel filter and miraculously my surf has cured itself. I'm now thinking it must have been something to do with the fuel filter?
Either way its starting a lot better now.
Cheers for all the help and advice you gave, its a shame we couldn't pin it down to something definate.If I like it, Bushwhacker doesn't. :-)

I'm sure there's an aftermarket part available locally, so search the forum.
If you still have problems then also replace the small o-ring that is on the drain tap, for the water sensor on the bottom of the filter.
