tapping noise in engine

[Diesel Turbo]

I just got back from a good run to make sure all is good after major service, and it is fine apart from when the engine is hot it makes a intermittent noise like tapping a tea soon on the rocket cover. The sound disappears as soon as the throttle is pressed even if it is slightly pressed, any ideas, would love the engine to be as it should be. thanks

I've never tapped a tea soon on a rocket cover, so don't know what it sounds like.

Strange noises at tickover can sometimes be down to leaky or cracked exhaust manifolds.

Your tensioner was OK, it's not letting the belt slap around at idle?

My timing was 180 out this time last month. No tapping noise, but I thought it was August.

Well, yeah, in the other thread it says so. May have just taken it off and put it back on again? I don't know. The thing is, those kids can get in all sorts of places. Maybe they swapped it back to an old one overnight.

You may have struck on something there. Has he done a kid count, maybe one hid in there and is trying to get out?
