  • Auto box slipping

    Guys and Gals,

My LN130 2.4 is occaisionally slipping when I pull away, I bring it down to low then move it up to drive once moving and its okay. Th O/D OFF light flashes now and again as well? This is all intermitent and other than this the truck is fine.

I have tried and tested the transmission oil change and cleaned all the filters inside, after three sets of new oil it's still slipping.

Do I need a new transmission? if so is it easy to do and where's best to get one

Daft question, but you are checking the levels with the engine running after cycling through the gears.

Could you clear something up for me, you say transmission oil, but do you mean fluid?

I hope you mean fluid and thats whats in your transmission and not manual 'box oil.

Why do you need to do this?

          Could you please elaborate?

I checked my from cool, and it came up to the "cool" mark on the stick!

Is there something I should know?

          Thanks!

With the engine running, the fluid is being pumped around the transmission including the torque converter.

another silly question, are you sure its slipping and not just kicking up and down between gears (i.e overdrive and top ) as your driving along????

It's only when I pull away it slips however when the O/D OFF light flashes its cruising and struggles a bit to kick in with top gear then does and the light goes off?

ok i may be wrong here but i think the overdrive light flashing is a fault code from the gearbox ecu.(this is stein on bios computer).
