Ive tried everything with mine heater matrix clear pretty sure no air locks. There was no thermostat in so i put a new stat in. could there be a blockage anywhere else in the engine, but would this not cause overheating.
She drove hour and a half flat out down to salisbury aound the plains and hour and a half home. No overheating issues at all. But she does spew a bit of water out of the expansion tank now and then

well i used some central heating sludge remover, left in the core for over an hour, then spent anout 30 mins with a hosepipe squirting down the core pipes, got some throughput of water but alas still no good, i also added the bled mod pipe work, filled up from this point and still no good, i deffo think the core has had it,

Mine does this. The wire on the slider does not force the lever back far enough. I probably just need to lubricate it.
Check where the wire connects next to the heater pipe under the bonnet, adjacent the bulk head.

@ stormforce, may well take you up on that offer, although my rear heater works, how much just for the front one.

@ hornet, i have checked all connections and they all work..

looks like ive cracked it, i used my central heating powerflush machine along with some hardcore scale/sludge remover (DS40 acid based cleanser with a neutraliser) and flushed it for a couple of hours.

                  Job done.

Might try the same thing but i can blow through the matrix pipes and it's not blocked, and i'am not getting heat to the back either. Where else could i make a loop for the machine in the engine to get to any other blockages

if your back one is not working then i believe that is your pipes blocked under the thermostat, bushwacker used a bicycle brake cable to clear it.

hmm, seems like my problem is back, albeit not as bad.

im not getting as much heat out of the front as i did after the powerflush yesterday, im thinking that crap has got back in from the engine side as i did not powerflush the engine.

So thats my next job although will have to wait for a couple of weeks now as im back to work tomorrow for a 7 day shift, then a 6.

in all cases when i have higher revs, more heat comes out, then drops off as the revs do. why oh why oh why.

Question, i think bushwacker mention my thermostat could be faulty but i have no overheating issues. could this be a problem..
