  • fuel pump!

ok i have just replaced the seal on the valve under the 4 injector pipes, the one with the wire coming out and grey round plug on end.

it is still leaking possably cos the seal is too small,

someone mentioned in another post about puting auto trans oil in the fuel to swell the seal, will this work on viton, alternatively is it possable to stop it leaking any other way, this is the third time i have repaired it and its been through 2 pumps. i will not do it again, if there is nothing else that can be done accept take it out then i am done with this car, i have no garage no driveway just the carpark behind my house and i have given this car as much knuckle skin as it gonna get, if there is ANY way to stop this leak without the pump out PLEASE let me know.

is there possably any sealant i can use ie unscrew it squirt and tighten
Its all fun and games till someone looses an eye!

Hi, whats the rest of the surf like, condition wise, if its good , i would take it out, you say you are on your 3rd pump , so its obvious you know how to get them in and out then.
It isnt that expensive to get the main seals replaced by a specialist, after all there is a few 1000 psi going on in there, hence the leaks.
Pumps can be expensive too thou,so if it aint worth it,maybe its cheaper to start again.
Maybe the wreckers can help? another pump?

If yours is the EFI engine (2LTE) then a brand new pump from Toyota is only about £300.00 so better to get a new one.

I can't remember the part No. but someone will know it off by heart.

            no its a 2.4

and i have decided to take it off the road and fix it over a longer period of time.

however it would be great help if anyone can tell me the seal size for the valve thingy under the 4 injector outs
