Went to wales on holidays towing caravan,got there alright,after looking at temp gauge all the way down there,Anyway on the return trip half way home yes,it was like a steam train.Looked under hud,yes over flow tank bubbling like a kettle.I had wat i thought,was the head skimmed,valve grinded,ect,anyway turns out that ive threw a grand away.Sorry i didn`t know about this site before hand.Now im going to save some money and take her to stevos.Can i still use her doing 30s around town.Say till after christmas then save money for head.Or good this cause further proplems.I feel like shit i dont think the other garage can do anythink,this time i may aswell get it done right.The other issue is it seemed to have lost quite a bit of oil to.Im not getting rid off her though,id rather sell the missus haha.

If it is the head, it may be OK to drive it, depends how bad it's broke. Check everything is ok in the cooling system too, fan, pump, bottom pulley, radiator, shrouds etc.

As for using oil, how much did you use and how far up the dipstick did you fill it?

I dont mean every day just shopping ect.Not traverling far with her till i get the money saved,As i say can`t afford to at moment with just getting back from hols,And chrimbo around the corner.

if it was me, i would'nt risk it as you could cause alot more damage. which then you would be looking to get a new engine.

but having said that is your truck. when my head went on the 3l it came straight off the road and i use the wifes car till i could fix it

There was black smoke coming out of the exshaust and it was empty filled her bagk up.Got me home ok after refilling with water every couple of miles.Started her up this morning seems fine,just pressurising cause head gone.

I wouldnt look right in my daughters mini metro id after park somewere people couldnt see me haha.But if i have to use it i will.
