Your symptoms sound just like mine were! The head had cracked on all 4 cylinders on mine last week!! I took advice from the guys on here and it went to Stevo in Stockport last Saturday, I colllected it today and have driven it from Manchester to Malvern (Worcs) all motorway. touch wood its perfect! drives like a new car, I would recommend him anyday, and for the cost of having it done properly you would have a bargin car at the price you paid for it!

Update : I have had the head pressure tested and was told all seems ok, i have been told it could be the turbo at fault, what do you all think ? . It seems to be holding some pressure overnight but white smokes untill it warms up, Any ideas ????

unburnt fuel by the sound of it. So maybe some sensor is iffy? throttle posion sensor or a dodgy pump, even worn injectors. Doubt it will be the turbo as it dont sound like turb symtoms from my past experiance. The turbo dont tell ecu how much fuel to put it, just works of gass's
              What comes around goes around!!

Overheating motor will have zero to do with the Turbo.

I left it sat ticking over for an hour and half yesterday and it was fine,i went half a mile down the road and stopped to check under bonnet and expansion tank was almost full and bubbling and turbo was stinking hot with smoke coming off, im puzzled by it now.

Ignore the trubo for now, you still have pressure issues in the cooling system. When they checked it, did they leave it all hooked up for a good 10-15mins, sometimes it takes a while for the motor to heat up and the crack to expand and start leaking.

If your sure its OK, then check the water pump belt, check the crank pulley isn't slipping. It may not be circulating water properly, and as the front bearing is water cooled, it could be why the turbo is hot. Are you getting hot air from the heaters? this will prove water is circulating.

The block could be cracked, its not impossible, or the block deck could be damaged, the only way to know for sure is to have the head off again, see if its cracked and then check the block over, especially the deck, for water damage and levelness.

The turbo will get stupid hot, its supposed to, if the oil feed pipe underneath is leaking, the oil will burn off and make smoke.

All the belts are tight and the water is circulating, heaters are warm. One thing i did forget to say is the temp guage never goes above half way.
