  • 2.4 Revving to maximum and can't stop

I have a K reg 2.4 Surf each time I start it the revs go to maximum, sometimes it will tick over ok until I touch the throttle then it just goes straight up to red line.
Also the ECU fuse blows everytime I turn on the ignition but even with the fuse blown it behaves in exactly the same way.
I have got an OBD code of six flashes.
If anyone can help please reply here or to gt4t@hotmail.com

      Thanks for the link

I have looked but there doesn't seem to be much there that would cause my problem.

It does sound like an electrical problem, but sometimes a knackered oil seal between the pistons and cylinder walls can cause lubricating oil to be pumped into the combustion chamber and burnt. Has happened on a couple of old LRs.

You'll know it's this if the exhaust is really smoky and the engine's eating oil.

Totally screwed injectors might also do the same.
