Well I was going to oblige Maverick by saying Hello THICK, how are you today, but looks like Tony has taken care of it and in any case I think Im probably thick as well. I think ive got the general gist of the thread but each new post just makes my brain hurt for a while
It's cool, respect to you for getting this far. Forgive us taking the pi$$, but it does take some translating.
When people are lazy and type like they text on a phone, that is annoying, having to teach yourself to read and write makes it fine, I can live with it.
Dunno about the manifold, is this the exhaust or inlet? The threads could be stripped. You may have to replace the studs, or retap the threads in the head. 2 bolts won't hold it on.

what about the mana fold blowing its nuts off (only 2 bolts in it)
i have done about 27. thousand mile with the mana fold blowing like that
and every now and again (on tick over) it makes a sound like
a diesel JCB on easystart (or sniffer)
could i have damaged any other things by running it in this way

its blowing from where the manifold just were it joins the engine
there is soot on the bulk head so its must be from the top just were the bolts or missing it was like that when i got it
i think some 1 told me lots of bull sh*t when i first got it
(cough cough bradford motors)
i was told that its never had the engine worked on
but them japs wont let a surf drive in that condition

I think most of us get that tho.Seeing as the Mrs knew i wanted bigger tyres etc on the truck and i got some cheap then i needed bigger rims so i told her to fit the tyres on so i got them aswell and a new s/steele exhaust
yep they dont like the cost but i got away with it this time i said its time for a sports car like a poarch 911 she went mad
next day she asked me why dont you put your surf back on the road (after i save it for 3 years) plus i went though 14 cars while this 3 years passed
fast ones slow ones diesel petrol turbos ex police cars all sorts
nothing and i mean nothing is close to the hilux
now its going to cost more for leaving it stud all that time
my dog has killed all the seats my brother has scuffed all the trim inside useing it to move beer barels and ripped the drivers seat (my poor recaros)
it was covered with cement on the paint work
and some one has hit it with the JCB with out owning up to it
but thats what i get for leaving it on my dads yard
this list is just to get it a MOT its going to cost me about 2 grand
and thats with a freind doing the work in his spare time too

just want every thing done right first time then i hope to have some fun with you guys some where if thats ok with you lot
then i will look in to converting it to a real off roader
my word thats the most i ever typed
for the mot just take the anti roll bar off and then if you want you can fit it back on after the mot.I have taken both of mine off and it goes thru the mot ok
What sort of wheel nuts do you need?Are they the bevelled type or the protruding type with the washers on them as i may have some you can have cheap

You really need all that junk? Thats one hell of a list. I've worked on some beaten up trucks over the years, but I've never had to that much stuff to one truck!! Poor truck, what did you do to it!

for what ever reason my surf has got an intercooler (had it on when i got it)
and it is ATF thats spits out comes from some where near the gear box
rad and all fans are ok
but my surf has got an intercooler (like second rad but with 2 realy big fanns i got plate fitted to cover it so i hope its still there)
i dont know if the inter cooler is like a car or a lorry
cars dont have oiled cooled intercoolers (cools gears)
some lorrys do (use gear oil to cool the gears)
how do the sufe ones work are they just air flow r do they use ATF to cool the gear box??
i did take it to a 4x4 specleist and he was clueless with it too
i tryed every where
it drops ATF when i hear something kick in
(LN130)
i live in eastwood (top end so stop looking worryed)
