  • Replacing rear coil springs

Hi all. I have to get new coil springs fitted and was looking at the set on sale by Rough Trax. Having never done stuff like this before, should I go about it like so...?
    Buy set of springs,
Call garage and explain I have new springs,
Ask them to quote for the fitting of springs,
Take car and springs to garage and let them get on with it.

Sounds obvious when you look at it like that but I just wanted to make sure.

    Thanks!

    Jay.

Fit them yourself you'll save a small fortune. Theres only seven bolts to undo, drop the axle pop old springs out and new ones back in and do bolts back up. I've changed two complete axles in the past week, first one took 4hrs, second time was 1hr 50m. Go on have a go! Just changing the springs should take no more than 1hr.

You'll need axle stands to support the body via the Chassis & a good jack.
        Some info here http://www.yotatech.com/f128/downey-...4runner-76341/

What kind of gear would I need for that?
I have a fairly basic toolkit, no specialist items, one jack! You make it sound easy but I don't want to f*ck my car up!
Is it a one man job or would I need assistance?

          Thanks a lot,

          Jay.

As Mark says, a decent trolley jack, axle stands, 21mm & 17mm spanner, 21mm & 17mm socket and a breaker bar, if your stuck you can bring it to Brum and do it here if you want a chuck.

Alrighty. I'm coming round to the idea of getting some gear and doing it myself.
Once I've got some more cash of course, d'oh!
