I've just re-read the first post, and I get this hilarious thought that he was trying to remove the valves!!
Evidence......Connecting bar, Spring, 19mm socket.....
Not sure if that was a hilarious thought but i been watching this thread with interest, thinking similar thoughts, but about the injectors. I was even considering having a look through the EPC on the other computer to see if i could work anything out. I didn't say anything cos i'm no mechanic, so don't really know what's what in there. But i did manage to do my glowplugs.

Does sound like an injector has been modified !

That definitely sounds like an injector. Was the other part of it still bolted into the engine? Did you remove a metal pipe from it before unscrewing it from the engine?

If it had a metal pipe connected then it was an injector, but if it had a wire to it then it was a glow plug, yes/no ??
