ight done it and it cetainly stats a lot bette, soy im on a compute that the ' '(button between e and t on the keyboad) doesn't wok. I'll leave it to MattF to coect my poo spellin, it'll get his post count up a bit.

Wasn't too bad a job, just under an hou of actual wok i eckon. emoved both pipes acoss the engine, the black one fom aibox to tubo, and the silve one fom tubo to manifold. Also cleaned all the contact points on the buzz ba as someone mentioned somewhee.

Only thing concening me is that thee was a lot of oil in both intake pipes, does this mean i need to have a look at the tubo beaing seals and stuff. If so can i put a bit of flexi fom the aibox to the intake manifold and emove the tubo completely fo a couple of days?

Soy again fo having no 's in the post. Hope it makes sense.

Just thought i shoulda done a jonathan woss accent and used all w's.

The oil in the pipes is just from the breather on the rocker cover. It's normal. Fit a catch can if you want to stop it happening.

Just got set of new glow plugs going to put them in tomorow when I change all filters and oil too. Just wanted to check as they seem very small they are approx 10cm long with a 7mm nut at top and 12mm just down from it. Does that sound about right?

If i remember right i think it was a 12mm deep reach socket (not 12mm spark plug socket, which is what i got out) to actually undo the plugs, then i think the only other size i used was 10mm, but may have used an 8mm, have a look on one of the new plugs see what size it is.

It took me longer to put the rubber pipes back on the 'EFI' turbo tubey thing than it did to replace the plugs themselves.

Bushwhacker, you're right, there was a great deal of swearing. There has to be an easier way of putting the rubbers back on!!

changed plugs today 2 1/2 hours all told which included going to local industrial supplies to get a deeper 12mm socket. 2 popped glow pugs one of them looked like those cartoon cigars that have exploded at the end. the other was just a small hole to one side of the end. Trucks starts now better than it ever did

First time i'd done glow plugs too, vince's post was pretty much spot on, and it all makes sense as you do it. Remember which order the insulators go and you're laughin. If you forget ensure that the electric connections and busbar are insulated from the block and it can only go one way(I THINK). Just remember it's a 12mm deep reach socket not a 12mm spark plug socket as i assumed it would be.

                          Cheer's vince

plugs, japs, and little plastic knobs!!!

cheers bushwacker, and nero279, for the advice,an me little bro lee, my truck now starts like a dream half a crank of the key and the suckers ready!! (and no somke aswell)
but why o why o why do they put those little plastic insulators on the top of the plugs!!! fair enough i know why they are there but what are you suppose to do when the glue gives up inside the plastic thing, and the top comes off and the brass bolt stays on top of the glow plug!!!!!!!! arrrrrggggggg, after much swearing cussing and buying a new set of mole grips, and about 2 hours!!!! the two that did decide to hold firm where eventually liberated!!!!! thanks again to my little bro for his stead fast determination in the face of japanese over engineering,
and what does that E F I thing do over the top of the engine, when we took it off there is nothing inside it??? ho well cheers all of you if i had a hat id take it off !!!

                            duck you sucker!!!!

You mean the one that's connected to the air filter assembly at one end and the turbo air intake at the other? Hhmmm, let me think.

                                hmmm

alright alright now!! but why give it a silver tube and stamp efi on it and make it look all fancy? and make it a bugger to get off, when a simple pipe with a flex on one end, connecting the said bits up (so you could disconnect just one end and move the whole lot out of the way?) and what does E F I stand for any how???
                                any ideas?
