        update

        head out

        no 1 looks fine

        no 2 wet

        no 3 duck pond!!!!!!

        No 4 fine

turning the engine by hand by the front pulley wassit could hear the water sloshing about
the only good thing is that i'm very sure it was never running or turned over
with the water in the piston

does anyone know of a better way of getting that pulley off other than putting a spanner on a bar jamming it on the frame and turning the key???

so anyways got head off (bolts around 2 and 3 have at some point been very hot)
looking fine few cracks but none of them major (beetween cylinders or water jacket)
will know more when i get it tested

list of things i need (may as well do now i have it in bits)

        cam belt
        cam belt tensner
        cam idler
        new fan
        glow pugs
        injectors
fuel filter housing (needed a new one anyways)
turbo maybe (waiting on Doc Anglegrinder to get in touch)
        up section on exhaust
        gaskets
        head
want to have a look at the steering now i can get to it
so maybe a steering stable thingy
        light bulb for gearstick
        oil cooler

list goes on if you can think of anything else i could do while i have the top off let me know if i go ahead with the head i want to make the truck as good as possible

truck looks super size now the front is lifted slightly due to the engine weighing less

also getting a cold so please forgive the spelling as i have run outa energy

yup but i thought you got them with a head from Stevo

                may be wrong

kinda looking for someone to talk me into a V8
but as this is the first ingine i have ever taken apart
                (under very close supervision)
i kinda loving the learning curve

oh and people that want to ban bull bars cos they are not needed inb this country, try telling that to my mechanical supervisor on this rebuild
4inch lifted surf 5.2 foot grease monkey. Top of the rad comes up to his collar so he has to use it as a ladder
