      Clutch fluid can be blown.
Although, you could be right as the sump seems to have been 'washed' by it.

I would say a Diesel leak too but a way to tell is to rub some between your fingers. oil and diesel are slippery clutch and brake fluid not.The only oil that can get on your clutch would be from the Gearbox, the engine main oil seal is sheilded by the flywheel. Also check you have free play of about half a inch at the top of the clutch pedal. Did you fit a new Cover and pressure plate my Surf clutch pedal is very soft due to the last owner sitting in traffic all the time with the pedal held down.

            Cheers guys..

I will check on the fluid tomorrow and see just how slippery it is...

As far as what was actually fitted by the garage, on the invoice it says spigot bearing and milner clutch kit, what exactly the clutch kit contained I would need to ask Milners.. which I will tomorrow.
Keep it greasey so it'll go down easy...

Milners clutch kit is a clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing.

                My 10 pence worth

I agree on diesel leak . It has 'washed' the oil from outside of the engine off the bottom of the sump . Also I see the bell housing bolts have been removed recentley as the threads are cleaned (and not by the diesel leak) and the heads of the bolts marked so I think the gearbox has been out . If a clutch fluid leak was present the clutch pedal tends to go soft and it is hard to engage gears as the seals are leaking allowing fluid to bypass . As mentioned , it maybe the free play on the pedal needs adjusting off so the clutch can fully lock , or the pedal will be holding the pressure plate down allowing the centre plate to slip .

                My opinion .

The clutch pedal is very light since the new clutch went in, and it sometimes jumps out of first, but it has done that since I first had it.

The milner cluch is lighter then others. mine settled in after a few days and felt more positive. did prefer the feel of the old cluch though but milners are cheep.

Any new clutch tends to be lighter then an old one as the pressure plate is not so far in past its fulcrum point so less pressure from your foot required . As the clutch wears the pressure plate face moves in so the clutch gets heavier .
As for the gears jumping out , it may need a new stick kit . I fitted one to mine and now have better gear change .Kit is only £12 approx from Toyota . Takes 10 mins to fit .

                        Customer service

my sympathys I entirely see your point of view

I'm an easy going chap, but over recent months, I've had some pretty lacklustre standards of service offered

Porsche specialist replacement motor 82' car

                        Autoglass windscreens shoddy/shoulder shrugging indifference
                        in dispute involving another party more;

For myself the motor was fitted to replace a catastrophicaly knackered original

on the verbal understanding, a used one could be sourced and
(subject to both parties being content with outcome)
                        end of story

                        I wasn't happy with outcome

no more business their way, and work corrected at further expense elsewhere

I looked into legal/arson options but finding no satisfactory outcome in either

quietly worked on my blood pressure for some time

                        repeat after me
I'm the guy thats going to kill you
I'm the guy thats going to kill you
I'm the guy thats going to kill you
I'm the guy thats going to kill you

hope you get satisfaction, I firmly believe what goes around, comes around.
