Bad Smoke Problem

well gave her a service (inc new air & fuel filter). got some injector cleaner. went for a strap up the road with the missus following. still blowin heaps. chatted to the bloke at repco and next door neighbour (his got a real nice new cruiser) they both reckon its injectors. will take to a new mechanic next week and suss gettin new injectors or whatever ya can do to them. goin water skiing the sarv bout 160k's away so that might give the cleaner a bit more time to work?
just been readin about egr mod. anyone think that will help?

just tested the egr mod and it certainly made a difference to my black smoke problem.

The missus's 2.4 smokes like a tyre fire! it's just had a new head but i think my injectors are goosed. The engine otherwise runs sweet and the timing is correct, so it's off to the diesel specialist 4 me!
