if you've removed the breather that runs from rocker to air inlet and cleaned any oil out then that should be the only source of oil in these pipes if all is healthy but even if you did clean them out you will still git splatterings of oil that just get blown through the system you couldn't get to when cleaning.

so i'd say if you've cleaned it and ran for while, have another clean 1st before removing turbo as this may be the case.

Is it smoking lots when turbo kicks in?
i swear, it was like that when i got here...

ok as you stand at the drivers side wing looking in the engin bay
with the turbo in front of you, you will see at the bottom right of the turbo what looks like a triangular shaped piece bolted on to the turbo.
When i have been running and i feel around it it seems oiled up underneigh it and oil running down the pipes at the back as in the photos.

feel up to top of these pipes where they bolt onto the turbo and see if you can tighten the 2 nuts at all.

reason i took my turbo off is that i had oil coming out of here in spits and gushin through the turbo outlet, so knew seals knackered, but if it aint smoking when turbo kicks in then it can't be kicking too much oil into inlet manifold.

see if you can get a turn on these nuts 1st anyway, unless you have oil streaming through the outlet, in which case it will be the seals if you've removed that breather already.

how much oil are you actually losing? because although there's oil on these pipes there could also be another source of this leak, is it smoking excessively when the turbo kicks in and has your red light come on at all?

no smoke when turbo kicks in ,that i have noticed anyway
dont think im using much oil at all its just drips on floor evry now and then and dont look very good
                    No red light ever

Took air duct off and cleaned all oil out from that
and then wiped a wrag around the inside of the rubber at the air filter and the one that connects to the turbo
Fitted it all back together then started playing about with the oil catch thing i told you about

Weather any oil is still in turbo that i couldnt get at i dunno.
                      Regards

hold on a sec then, i seem to remember reading something about alternator feeds which leak (maybe dreaming but i'll go have a look see.) clean the entire area spotless and then run it (kick in the turbo a bit) then see if there's leaks anywhere near this feed if you have this kind of alternator, if the oil is only running down the turbo feed pipes thenit will be that, but if not it maybe the other. i'll see what i can find.

also BUSHWHACKER the newbie bully is around, see if you can get his attention for he is king of all things surf (so he thinks anyway?!?!?)

he knows it all, in the mean time i'll try find out if this alternator thingy's a dream i had.

check this oil feed for leaks also, if that ok then back to turbo, but i'd imagine it is those oil feeds to turbo bit loose or the gasket holding them naff but don't sound like turbo seals knackered if it aint smoking, not much oil loss, no red light and i assume you can still hear it whistling when it kicks in?

I have evidence of oil trickling form a few places for the last two years. It never gets as far as spotting the concrete, so I am not too worried about it. At least those bits won't go rusty.

Same here. I never have to top the oil up between oil/filter changes,
so class it as not worth worrying about. If I were chucking a pint a
week in, then it might be worth worrying about.
