I gave it a rub over with wet or dry paper, 800 grit just to take the shine off it really then red oxide primer, two coats then ahem, Ford Nouveau red mettalic three coats, then two coats of clear. Left out in the baking sun between each coat.
The tin only cost £2 from poundstretcher. Be aware though, it's a bit flimsy when you cut the end off, but when fitted it should be firmer.
Yup. I will be cutting me bonnet tomorrow and fitting the scoop but I'm gonna fit it with the opening facing the windscreen until I get the silicone elbows for the intercooler. I've made a template (lots of templates till I got it right! ) and cut the baking tray so that it can be fitted either way.
