Battery charging and water temp guage

Hello, just wondering about charging the batteries on my surf, is it ok to do it with both connected, or should i disconnect and do them one at a time? Also the water temp guage isnt working, so i looked under the bonnet and there appears to be 2 connections and one seems to be snapped off, if someone could send me some info on the correct setup i would be very grateful, Cheers, James

Also the mast on my surf is broken and i need to replace it. Does anyone no how this is done? cheers, James
