Veg Oil Mix

Guys,

I put 18 ltrs of veg oil in the other night when the needle said 1/4 tank left,
Then went to morrisons and filled her right up for a further £24 (ish).

This morning it seemed to be a little lumpy on starting but after a couple of secconds it was fine.

I know at 12 ltrs it was fine on starting,
But i think some of you guys are using more than me.

Have i put too much oil in or is this normal when running the veg oil as this is only the 2nd time i have used it ???????????????????.

i put 30ltrs in and top with diesel+4ltrs of unleaded lumpy at first then all ok.

Why unleaded ??

Thought it wouldn't work.

just to thin it out a bit more,it ups your octane rating and reduces your cetaine rating the wrong way round for a diesel but a lot of veg users do it in winter and i tried it first on my diesel bx and it felt good that was 30ltrs veg 4.5 ltrs unleaded and 10ltrs diesel i mixed the petrol and veg first in a jerrycan and chucked it in also tried white spirit a while back in the same bx but started then died and had to use wd40 into airbox(better than easystart)to restart it

Anybody else got any mixing sugestions, would like to here.

Please state what engine size and liters of veg oil used NOT percentages as some people
(like me) don't understand to well.

Did my first experiment yesterday on my 3.0 20-80% mix (8l-2l)runs like a treat no noticable loss of power although the checkout girl at Sainburys gave me an odd look

I wait until my litle orange light comes on, I add 20 - 25 litres of Dunne Stores Finest 61cent Veg oil, 2litres of unleaded (if I remember and I have enough lying around the barn) and the fill up with diesel.
I know that my injectors would benefit from being thrown in a bin and replaced with shiny new ones and I too find I'm lumpy for all of 2 mins and then right as rain after that.

Not stalking, verry interested in the use of veg oil as a substitute fule.
And just trying to find the best way to save money as i'm sure we all are.

20-30 litres of veg, and then fill tank up with diesel (65 litre tank).

Seems to run start and run fine. But I do have a heated fuel filter unit, inline fuel line heater and fuelcat heat exchanger,

I have done 4 tank fulls so far on veg. At about 20%. 12ltrs veg + top up with diesel for first tankfull then when it gets to a quarter full I add 9ltrs veg and top up with diesel (keeps the ratio about the same ie. 20%) Only in the last few days has it been a bit lumpy on start up, but has been very wet aswell as colder but still runs like a dream once warm. I've ordered some Veggi Boost from Goat Industries so will see if that makes a difference. Anyone else used this??????
