Right, so I don't appear to be missing anything in my air filter box. I reckon the 4runner had a fixing clamp inside as the box was mounted on it's side, so the filter would have had to have been held securely in order to get the top on, if you know what I mean.
Can anyone else confirm what Vince suspects about the ECU? I might as well try that out but just wondering whether disconnecting the batteries will affect the alarm/imobiliser settings, or even set it off.
