Calling all surfers who have any knowledge of 2.4 head problems (ie. most of you!). Have had recon head fitted ( before I knew about Stevo!) but still boiling up and losing all water through header tank. Took head off and sent back for pressure testing. Head passed the 50 PSI pressure test (stevo says this is inconclusive as engine pressure is 500psi+). They say now that it must be a cracked block. Has anyone had a cracked block, I understand this is extremely rare. The garage say they know someone who can prssure test the blcok in position upto something like 300psi. Has anyone heard of this? What are peoples thoughts?
If block passes test plan to get knew head off of Stevo. Then fingers crossed. I have taken some pictures of block and head please have a look and let me know if you can see something I can't........ need all your advice and experience. If you think this is a familiar story - can anyone beat 12 weeks of work without sorting a cracked head?
