I have a Nissan Skyline as well as the Surf and they suffer from pours blocks. I had it pressure tested at 150psi out of the car and was told it was Ok rebuilt the engine and it still had the leak. You can get a Red fluid that you paint on that shows cracks up I think this method is better.

bit like what they use on jet engine components... dip it in dye under pressure and then clean it, whe n held under UV light it shows any cracks.
