Boy, have I got problems.
Last thurs, out of the blue, engine started clattering and swiftly seized. The garage say there was no oil at all in the engine but could see no signs of where it had all gone! In any case they say the engine is now completely shot.
Another engine specialist in Cardiff says they have seen this before and it is the turbo that blew and pumped all the oil out of the engine. Is this a common occurence and is there any preventative measures/maintenance that can be done to avoid it?
Incidently, have been quoted £785 (including VAT, delivered) for a complete replacement 2.4 turbo engine including all ancilleries (turbo, alternater, starter etc) and a local mechanic reckons £250 - £350 to fit. Sound reasonable?
