3.0 1996 TD. No power when driving.

Hi there I’m new to this site and I would like to ask for some advise please.

I have a 3.0 TD 1996 hiluxsurf I have had three different people tell me three different problems that they think is wrong with it I have removed a plugged the vgr valve I have run test on the Diagnostics with the paper clip and have a error code of 14. To which I’m ledge to believe that it’s a Diesel pump fault or injectors.
I spoke to three people a injectors specialist a mechanic and a Rac guy.

one said it’s the turbo and glow plugs another said it’s the fuel pump and the other one said it’s the injectors.

when you start it up it’s smokes massively after a short while the smoke has gone and it runs ok but without much power and sounds like it’s running on three cylinders. Would really appreciate any feed thanks in advance.

Hi have had the exact same . Toyota Ayr head mechanic used to be in south africa so great knowledge . The fuel delivery pipe into pump remove banjo and bolt there is a 'w' shaped circlip . Remove with narrow pliers then pull out the 2 inch long filter . Clean. Also go to rear passenger side of pump there is a sensor then a large nut remove then u will find a stubby filter about 12 mm long. This is the one that was blocked with long fibres. Toyota had no idea how they could get in there. Normal running now resumed but there was a bonus. A significant power increase.

Hi there thanks for your reply could you possibly explain a little more we found what we think the banjo is from the fuel supply removed banjo but there was no W circlip or 2 inch long not sure if we are looking in the correct place we are looking in the fuel pump under the bonnet as shown in picture would really appreciate I little more info if you can please. thank you.
