    I thought 'GREY' was used when a car was imported via a third party country like Ireland. I think it was used because it was harder to trace back. ie could have been stolen in DUBAI and sold with a load from Japan. It then ends up with a grey history.

    Could be way off target though.....

        it's cos it's not an official UK car... eg if you import a fiesta from france... it's still a fiesta so this is a parallell import. same car (perhaps a slight spec difference) but bought cheaper
        grey imports are motors that were never intended for the UK market and when you phone for insurance they say "what's a surf?"
        nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!
