      Geezzzz that enough hours...

The weekend is mine, I usually finish about 3 or 4 PM on fridays. But then again I start work on monday 5am, and all nights out. So thet better keep their hands of MINE weekend.

anyway that 48h directive, noone knows what will happen, so keep me informed how the trials are going, and what about pay rise?

prime time, is that waiting, breaks, daily rest, unloading? if so, where is the prob? the time you are NOT driving doesnt count, will it?

Got spotted eh? LOL, the other week some bloke was taking pics in Wolverhampton truckstop (NT, ex-BP). Some drivs didnt like their rig on camera, and started chasing the poor fellow down. He wore an ANORAK !

haha!!... get a night knock at wolverhampton!!
prime time is any time you're not working, e.g waiting to load/unload or on a ferry or on rest breaks... anything else is working time... but it's a strange one cos i told them i'm working so long as i'm in charge of the vehicle... it's not like you can park up and pop into town!
there will be a maximum 12 hr working day (10 hrs at night) and you'll have to have 12 hrs daily rest instead of 11 (can't reduce to 9 either!)

the 48 will be an average over a 16 week period but the absolute maximum will be 60 hrs (but you'll have to have time off to compensate)

just think how hospitals are going to cope!... my dentist said he usually does 48 hours over the weekend!... we're all gonna be doomed!
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

just how safe will it be towing 1.5 ton of horse and trailer behind a Micra?

You want to try being a railway worker. They have just reduced our working week from 37.5Hrs to 35 to comply with the regs proposed after the Clapham rail crash. Now the guvners are moaning that the overtime bill is going up. Last month I did 70Hrs overtime and I was on holiday for part of the month. We say get more staff. They say too expensive.

Put shafts on the Micra and use the horses to pull it. They'll be too knackered to show, when you get to your destination, but it is environmentally friendly. The Lib Dems and even little Kenny Livingstone will love you for it!

Yeah, but what about all the rose fertiliser? People have enough trouble clearing up after their canine friends. Just think what London's street would be like if everyone went back to using horses (traffic would probably move faster in the City anyway!!!) and all that muck on the roads. Even worse pollution that now.
