Forum members opinions

Mods were as follows

Me
Jotto (still active on here)
Dixei.t (still gets on here from time to time)
Lucky (not been on for a while)
TonyN (very occasional visit)

Personally I think some people need to grow a pair and get over the odd comment e.g
Someone puts a post up and ask what do you think of this?
People give their opinion
then the OP gets all upset because people say it rubbish etc

If people feel another mod or two is required then I am happy to have a look at this. Its hard to find someone that will do it sensibly and especially to canvas someone I have never met and only interacted via this forum.

So not that the forum needs more moderation (go look at driftworks.com/forum) but that it needs some new blood to replace the old. Makes sense.

We had the same over on a honda forum I'm active on. People move on and you need a minimum number of mods to keep it all together. We elected a couple of new ones and all went on as before.

yes. To be honest I don't even know who the moderators are anymore.

This forum is pretty tame, especially compared to some that I frequent.
Having said that, from memory, things escalate pretty quickly.
Goodcat for instance.


There hasn't been a meltdown of that scale for what seems like an eon.

There was a potential for and probably still is a chance of conflict occurring in say Engine Transplant section.

I myself have only been back a few months, I know Nigel is a very busy man. I also know that quite a few of the old moderators no longer walk these corridors, After having read a few of the threads it seems some people feel the need for some form of moderators, hence why i am asking forum members for their opinions. (Only because no one else has asked as of yet). Not trying to start a war just interested in reading some of the members opinions and the fact that seeing an orange star is quite rare nowadays.

Having only been on here a couple weeks I would ask what might need moderating?

The traffic is very low, there is no apparent aggro and any more than one or two mods would soon be tripping over each other for things to do from experience.

What is it that makes you feel it needs more moderation out of interest? I have been on a few forums over the years and seen a few differing attitudes prevailent on them. This is the equivalent of a well mannered sleepy village to my current experience of it. Just what I am looking for personally but not a place I would think needs more than a local 'bobby on the beat'.
