Heres some more piccies guys (and girls) click to view though to save the webspace. Some are from Sidbury Hill and some are from WildTracks (both before we got BFG AT's on.
It does do offroad and well with leather and rolls royce depth carpets...
        but we got it stuck
and got it wet.... we stayed dry though --> clearly shows it wades quite well.

My Dad uses it all the time though so nothing 'too' crazy in case he cant go to work - hence we now have the Zook!

        Hmmm
        Bit of bendage
My fault this one - "I made him do it" hah! A lightweight LR pulled us out of this
        Home and dry... and dirty!
        Tigger 2 our Zook!

That third one just shows that no matter how good a motor you got, it will get stuck with bad tyre choice. Your dad shouldn't feel bad, with those tyres on a Landrover, Jeep, Landcruiser BJ and probably even a Unimog would have got stuck.

Now with ATs or MTs on, it would have been a different story.

          Nice truck by the way.

          Cheers

Thanks lucky. It does have AT's on now and what great tyres they are! Tyres in pic are just what it came with. The first couple of pics in this thread showed them. Cant find any new pics of late

Got a friend who owns an Amazon..paid approx 45000 to 48000 and boy is it fully loaded..you name aircon, different settings for back and fron (electronic)...leather, difflock front and back, and so on...too may buttons to name

Looks like the new Patrol is gonna be a good un...keeping to its roots..not like the Land Rover....all electronics and will be full of sh*t as soon as you put your feet in it..

Excellent, someone else is with the big boy's. I'll have to bring it up when I get one, we can have a very small and select LC 80 group within the forum.

Thats what I always fancied doing but I don't think it would fit without major bulkhead / dashboard / transmission tunnel modification. Being a straight six it is absolutely gigantic. Having recently sat in an LC for the first time I couldn't believe how long the bonnet is.

Still with 180 bhp and 260 lb/ft of torque at a very low rpm, it would be a beast to be reckoned with.

                      Cheers

Yeah it will certainly make a change working on it rather than having to squeeze my way around the 2.4 engine in my Surf. Amazing how the 3.0 Surf has much more room around it than the 2.4 - mind you I wouldn't want to have to remove the Turbo on a 3.0.

                          Cheers

Nice truck Bob. I've looked at a couple that colour, both import VX Limited. Funny thing is that both had a 3 inch suspension lift which meant that I wouldn't be able to use the local multi story carparks because of the height.

One of them though was a really beautiful motor, had suede leather seats, 33 inch tyres, fridge, water bottles and a cooker all on a removable slide plate in the rear plus the fridge/cooler in the middle.

Mind you they wanted nearly 9 grand for it on a 1993 plate - newly imported.

Does yours have the 1HD-FT engine or the earlier 1HD-T engine.

Anyway, yours looks great, there really isn't anything quite as imposing or capable looking as a decent 80 series. Even the new 100 series doesn't look as good although I did pass one on the Motorway this morning - brand new and had loads of mods on it - lift kit, full length roof rack, ARB bull bar, winch, CB aerial, A/T tyres, spotter lights, high lift jack mounted on the roof rack. Must have cost thousands. Nearly drove off the road rubbernecking it was so beautiful.

                                Cheers
