    Andy just looking at the pics, there does seem to be a lot of cable there, have you given the inner cable a goog hard tug (oooooeeeerrrr missus). Just to make sure it has not snapped.

      No - I'll give that a try now - hang on....right, taken some pliers to it, gave it a good yank, doesn't seem to be snapped.

      I don't suppose there is any merit in putting a spacer on the bracket that attaches to the intake pipe, to get it to stand off a bit more, and add tension to the cable is there?

      Any idea where to get a new cable from?
      Too old to care, young enough to remember

        Ok long shot here, but when you had the sump pan off and you were cleaning up the valve block, I dont suppose you would of knocked it and unclipped it from its slider.

          Unlikely, but I will have a look just in case. I was pretty careful to not adjust/knock anything when I cleaned up the sump and stuff.
