I, like most of you I'm sure, have the best Surf I can afford. I could have had a better/newer different car for the same money, with no head/rear window motor/saggy bottom/chassis rust etc. concerns, but my 1990 Surf is my dream car in my actual, real-life, cash buy (ie, no car loan), pre-lotto win price range.
I passed a huge house in Galway at the weekend, which had a '04 Range Rover AND a '04 Aston Martin Vantage (or Vanquish - she wouldn't let me turn back for another look) in the drive.
If I could afford any car or number of cars, I think I'd still have to have a Surf, probly a late gen2 SSR-G 3.0. I'd also have a muscle car like the Vantage.
For fun, and cos it's self gratifying to doss while at work, how about a list of cars we'd own from each category, if money were no option.
Here'smy suggested categories, and my choice in each...
Pure Off Road Toy - Land Rover Defender 90 2.5 (300TDi) manual
Muscle Car - Aston Martin V12 Vanquish or Lister Storm
Sports Car (Road) - Mitsubishi FTO GPX
Sports Car (Track) - Nissan Skyline
Classic/Vintage Car - Ford Cortina Mark 3
Luxury Car - Jaguar XJ12
Everyday Car - Toyota Hilux Surf late gen2 SSR-G 3.0
Family Car - Ford Galaxy
American Car - 1977 Chevelle
NOTE: I reserve the right to change my mind, either because I find something I prefer, or because of threats from other people.
