Our well loved Hilux surf needs a new ECU - and I wondered how/where I go about getting hold of one - I have seen that other members have managed to get them - can anyone advise??

Well, hello to you, too.........The words "Hello", "Please" and "Thank you" can all be formed by pressing down carefully on the various characters on your keyboard. Use these judiciously and you may get a favourable response.

.....and is it auto or manual?

I don't care if you say hello or not. Maybe a thank you later, depending on if I answer your question or not.

But you're an Orstralian, Nev. Your society isn't crippled by manners.

I didn't help, but I also didn't resort to sarcasm, no hang on.

I take it Cambridge is the model. Therefore you don't have an ECU. Austin went out of business well before electronic control was widely available.
I reckon it's your side draught carb.
                        Non intercooled nothing.
