Saw a Range Rover just north of the Gaydon junction on the M40 with the plate:

    LR 1

Think it may belong to a motor manufacturer ...

Life is too important to take seriously !

Saw BAK3R on a local baker's van today. Must've cost some dough! (I really did; it wasn't just so that I could exercise my fantastic wit).

1 OWN is currently on a Range Rover in Stepps Glasgow.

HOP 1N was on a 911 in the west end of Glasgow a couple of yeas ago.

When I had the unfortunate experience of working for Lex auto service,
the prize that year, for the best performing manager, was wait for it.

A new company car Hyundai Accent, with personalized no plate

                LEX 1.

Big deal. I would have been embarrassed to drive the damn thing

My uncle had the plate A1 on a 1970s Mini 850. It was during the fuel crisis and to set an example he chopped in his Roller for the Mini. It only had 2 seats though - a normal (leather covered) one in the front for the chauffeur and an armchair in the back for Uncle John.
The plate belonged to Dunlop tyres (UJ was a director) and was sold to the Japs along with the rest of the company.
