Do you understand that we are talking about a 2.4L diesel which cannot tow more than 1500kgs?
I think that if the gross train weight is more than 3500kg then you need to obtain a B+E driving licence. This probably means that the trailer should weigh no more than 3500kg minus the vehicle gross weight.

Neither the 2.4L or the 3L 2nd Gen should be towing in excess of 1500kg if they want to comply with the law according to a number of sources including sources based on manufacturer's specifications. Not sure what is so difficult to understand about that?

It depends. Is it left hand drive or right hand drive? And does it have a sunroof?

I put our horsebox with 2 x 16-17h Cobs in on the weighbridge at our local quarry and it came out at 1825kg. Adding saddles, feed and all the other stuff for events would probably add another 100kg.
Should be OK with our Gen 3.
