                  The finish is sort of growing on me, but having touched it with dusty hands, I think it will be a biatch to keep clean...

                  I'm all for experimenting with this now. Its not like i'm ever gonna see the shiney chrome again is it, so might as well have a few experiments with it. (note - finishes could be used elsewhere...)

                    sand it down to a smooth finish first with comething like 800 wet and dry then lacquer it. if its still a rough coat after lacquering it, it may be awkward getting poop out of the texture.

                      Ide imagine that if you laquered over the textured coat thats on there now, it would have enabled the shite to easily be jetted off.

                        Yes you are correct , the laquer will seal it in and as you say the poop will easily wash off then
