oil pressue sensor?

  • oil pressue sensor?

    hi guys could someone please confirm this is the oil pressure sender

    gauge died ages ago finally got round to trying to fix, when I earth attached cable I get movement on the gauge so cable and gauge seem to be ok

    I bought a sender but looks different to the picture

    could anyone please advise where i can get one and how to replace

      Yes that is the oil pressure sender unit in your first post.
      I have a spare used one here if you want it, just pay postage.

          A 12mm open ended spanner is all you need to remove it, it has a square section to it between the sender and engine block.

            thanks mate just transferred £3 to make sure it covers it dont suppose you could send the attaching cable if you have it

                stupid questions but is oil likely to spurt out when i unscrew it and is this engine oil pressure or transmission oil pressure

                  Engine oil presure.
                  You might get a small dribble of oil come out as you remove the sender.
                  Just don't remove it when the engine is running!

                    thanks mate much appreciated

                    would this not working have an affect on anything else or is it purely a visual indicator

                    don't suppose you know quantity of oil needed to refill if I do an oil and filter change and could you recommend which oil

                    sorry for all the questions
