Having a potential pressure cooker and no REAL idea of how hot the engine is running I think it is about time that I looked into some accurate form of temperature gauge.
Have any of you carried out this mod?
http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/tempgauge.htm
I like this one as everything is kept "standard" ie no gauge pods,no temperature sensors to fit etc, however I am concerned about the potential of me melting the circuit when I have to go diving in with my solder iron.
Did you get it to work as they show in the temperature comparison pics?
If you have done this mod any hints or tips that I should consider.
The other option I was considering was to buy one of these kits http://rspec.co.uk/performance-gauge...perature-gauge
Although the digital dial off of R-spec will actually give a reading in numbers having the analogue pointer may actually be easier to read and see the pointer position.
As ever your input is valued
Cheers
