Ordinarily, I use them. Ordinarily, I use a card to pay.
Today I made a fatal error, I tried to put cash into a Morrison's one.
Firstly, baring in mind I'm in Scotland, The checkout 'supervisor' told me that the machines don't like 'Scottish' money! I pointed out that Stirling is about as Scottish as it's possible to get, and asked why on earth would the machine not like our money? She didn't reply.
Anyway, I tried some different notes, they didn't work either, so I had another rant. She then, by way of explanation for this second failure, went on to tell me that I was being unreasonable to expect the machine to take notes that had "at some point, been folded"
I left and went to Tesco, no issues at all...

far to much "automation" nowadays, especially the phone's

, I prefer to use our local shops for anything but a major shop, as it's cheaper as its a short walk rather than a drive. It's nicer cos I dont have to mix with sweaty sweaty fat women buying lardy-bites for their trailing snot covered offspring cos its buy 1 get 10 free at Morrisons, and I don't have to stand 10 deep at the tills whilst sweatyfatarse in front of me wants to pay by card for a 99p purchase. And most of all, the produce (veg, meat etc) is FAR nicer than the 6 months frozen-stored cr@p dished out at the local supermarket.
