Just got renewal from Adrian Flux and it has gone up by £5 - to £295!! 10+ years NCD, 107 years old, protected NCB etc. May give Sureterm a call but quite happy with AF.

            Cheers, Nick

                  Hi guys,

                  I've got two cars,
E320 Merc, 22 years NCB, fully comp, Aged 39, cost £318
3.0 Surf SSRX 1995, only had it a year so only got one years NCB on it (I did mention my 22 years on another car).
My first year insuring it with no NCB (last year) it was £399.72, this year they want £585.85.
                  4000 miles, kept on drive.

How the hell can it go up nearly 200 quid with a years NCB ????
That was with Lancaster insurance who I've used in the past when I had a Defender (sorry !) and they've always been the cheapest.

I've searched around but cant get lower than £325, anyone any tips/insurers to use ?

                  Many thanks in advance

Direct Line are happy to insure mine at about £325 (don't have the paperwork to hand).

This was despite me being told previously by them, when I asked for a quote, that they didn't cover imports.

When I called back to cancel my policy with them on the Saab I'd just sold, they asked why I was cancelling. I told them it's because I'd just bought something they don't insure.

"Really? I think we can, let me have a look..."

                    Pure lottery, it seems.

Doubly out of order as the insurance industry was only saying last month that insurance costs had fallen this last year!

Adrian Flux, age 44, on drive, 8K miles, a million years no claims, fully comp, £352 and I thought they ripped me off as well...

I'm with admiral multi car so not certain exactly how it breaks down across cars but

                            '10 Civic 2.2cdti
'95 3.0D SSRX with mods declared (lift kit, snorkel) 4k mileage limit

Insured fully comp for myself and my wife with 12 years ncd applied to both cars was £650

We reinsured Nina's 3rd Gen with Adrian Flux, who sent the quote through at £480 but got them on the phone after getting another quote for a lot less and it's £290, she's not 33 nor is she 35 (see, didn't tell you her age), and me as a named driver. Our Pajero is through Sainsburys, with Nina as named driver and it's £185, and the Audi is with Bewiser with Nina as named driver again and it's £500.

Admiral and all on CompareTheWotsit.com all wanted silly money (£600 +)
Direct Line didn't understand what a bodylift was and then after nearly half an hour on the phone declined to insure me as I only had 1 years NCB on the Surf (Have got about 20 years on my other car)
So I went with Adrian Flux at £335

Slighty better than my £585 renewal quote !!!!

                                Thanks for all recent replies.
