    SORRY about the thread hijack
Thanks for the photos! Bet you had lots of fun on the track. I had a mk1 XR2 which was done for fast road but wouldnt have taken much to get it track ready. Was considering hillclimb but just never done it. Slightly gutted really. But it was a good thing as I was a silly kid with a reasonably quick road car. An unmarked ford mondeo managed to get me to race him from some lights. When he caught up the copper gave me a right telling off. You don't realise the risks at the time, though.

Although did have some fun moments surprising other people who believed they had a quick motor to then pee all over them from a standing start and rolling. Used to go through engine mounts every month. The gearbox mount used to snap no matter how I tried to reinforce it. Best thing I ever bought for it though was a paddle clutch. I went through a handfull of clutches that slipped from brand new before eventually going for the paddle.

About torque steer, does anyone know what it's like to lock a diff in a FWD car? I'd expect you would only get problems at low speed? Mine was so bad every irregularity in the road would require a counter steer one way or the other. Someone once told me car fish tailed.

I miss a fast car, although they cost money and can be trouble. The surf just costs money.
    Oh Nana, what's my name?
