H4 and L4 are 4x4 with a locked CENTER diff. Don't think Surf's got e-locked rear diffs like the 4Runners.Originally posted by noobysurfer View PostI thought they all did?! I have H2 H4 on the button and H4L and L4L on the stick. I presume the H4L is high range 4wd with locked diff but I could be totally wrong! I'm sure someone with more of a clue will be along to help!'96 Toyota Hilux Surf SSR-G - RIP

Nope, never seen a Factory Electric Diff lock on any Surf, definatly not a 2nd Gen option, and not seen a 3rd Gen with it. I think it was just a NAS late 4Runner option, some Jap import pickups have them though.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...

LOL, I'd have though Tony had seen pics of a Multi-mode 3rd Gen before on herre!!
The OP is talking about Factory fit electric rear diff locks, like in a Colorado/Prado. Am pretty sure the 3rd Gen Surf never had them even as an option.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...
